Internal Landscapes is a series within Intervals, an ongoing photographic practice built through carefully constructed assemblages of photographs made across different places and moments.

The series explores the imagined inner lives of individuals encountered in public space, and the distance between seeing someone and knowing them. Drawn from moments of suspension, the works emerge from a curiosity about what may occupy the mind: memories resurfacing, dreams of elsewhere, emotional projections or distant places.

Anonymous figures are brought into relation with fragments of landscapes, interiors and abstract details. Through scale, spacing, colour and visual rhythm, each assemblage forms a carefully balanced world. These connections suggest possible inner landscapes without claiming to reveal the subjects’ actual thoughts or experiences.

The work invites attention to people whose lives briefly intersect with our own. Their presence is visible, while their histories, concerns and desires remain unknown. As viewers move between the photographs, their own memories and associations enter the composition, shaping how they imagine the person before them.

Each work holds this uncertainty open, acknowledging both our curiosity about others and the limits of our understanding.
