Anyone who knows anything about my work will know that I have a bit of an obsession with windows. For me, they are a perfect metaphor for photography: a call to travel, a promise of somewhere else, an escape. The window becomes an opening to the world, a passageway between inside and outside for this woman (in this case my partner) who, by opening the curtains, lets in the light in a pictorial chiaroscuro.

Ceux qui connaissent un peu mon travail savent que j’ai une petite obsession pour les fenêtres. Elles sont pour moi une métaphore parfaite de la photographie: un appel au voyage, une promesse d'ailleurs, une échappée. Celle-ci devient une ouverture sur le monde, un passage entre l'intérieur et l'extérieur pour cette femme (en l’occurence ma compagne) qui, entrouvrant les rideaux, laisse entrer la lumière dans un clair-obscure pictural.
